Clínica Romero is a participant in HRSA’s Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. (EHE) initiative to expand HIV prevention, testing, and treatment services. We partner with LA County DPH’s Division of HIV and STD Programs (DHSP) to make testing and care accessible.
Our Approach
Our HIV Program is dedicated to providing accessible services including comprehensive HIV testing, PreP and PEP prescriptions, and primary HIV care to underserved and marginalized communities,.
We collaborate with medical experts, leading researchers, health agencies, and community members to raise awareness, enhance linkage to care, engage in clincal collaborations, and foster civic engagement. Grounded in integrity and a deep concern for the wellbeing of our patients, we are committed to advancing health equity and empowering individuals to take control of their health.

HIV prevention and testing
CMOAR provides routine HIV screening, including testing at least once for people ages 13-64 and annually for people with increased risk.
Approximately 13% of people living with HIV in the U.S. are unaware of their HIV status, highlighting the need for improved access to testing and treatment.
CMOAR’s HIV Prevention & Care Program provides access to at-home test kits and lab testing at our Los Angeles area clinics and street medicine and community events.
PrEP, PEP, DoxyPEP
We are able to provide pre- and post-exposure medications in clinical and non-clinical settings.
- PrEP is a pre-exposure prophylaxis that reduces the risk of HIV infection by 92% or more.
- PEP is a post-exposure prophylaxis that should be taken with 72 hours of a possible exposure to HIV.
- DoxyPEP is a post-exposure prophylaxis that reduces a person’s risk for bacterial STIs including syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea by two-thirds. DoxyPEP does not prevent HIV.
Primary HIV Care
- Primary HIV care for patients living with HIV/AIDS
- Antiretroviral therapy (ART)
- Linkage to specialized care
