This Giving Tuesday, Bring Healing to a Hurting Community.
Your gift supports mental health care for families facing fear and trauma. Every dollar helps a family access counseling, crisis support, and compassionate mental health care.
For 42 years, Clínica Monseñor Oscar A. Romero has stood in the gap for Los Angeles’ most vulnerable families. Today, our community is facing an emotional crisis unlike anything we have seen in decades.
Families who walk through our doors are frightened. They are traumatized.
They are carrying deep emotional wounds from the violence, raids, homelessness crisis, and systemic inequities that surround them daily.
“My story has been filled with pain. struggle, and moments when I thought I wouldn’t make it. Addiction had me at my lowest, and I felt broken, ashamed, and tired of fighting. When I got to Clinica Romero, I was searching for hope even though part of me didn’t believe I deserved it. What I found there was compassion, people who didn’t judge me but instead walked with me through recovery. They helped me face my demons, gave me tools to heal, and reminded me that I was stronger than I ever knew. Through their support, I started to rebuild my life piece by piece, finding not just recovery but a sense of worth and purpose that I thought was gone forever. If clinics like Clinica Romero were to close or cut back, it would hit people like me the hardest. Without that kind of care, so many people wouldn’t get the chance to find recovery, and some might give up before they even begin. These clinics aren’t just buildings — they’re lifelines, and without them, people like me could lose hope.” 'Amanda, Clinica Romero Patient'.
Hope Grows Here. Especially When the World Feels Heavy.
Your Giving Tuesday gift brings emotional healing and mental health care to individuals and families in crisis.
Every day, families come to Clínica Romero carrying fear, trauma, and emotional pain. For many, we are the only place they feel safe enough to say, “I need help.”
The Need Is Urgent. Mental health needs have surged across underserved communities:
- Nearly 1 in 5 adults in Latino and immigrant households report symptoms of anxiety or depression.
- 82% of low-income families say they cannot access timely mental health care.
- Latino communities have the lowest access to mental health support, despite experiencing some of the highest levels of trauma.
- Only 36% of Latinos with a mental health condition receive any kind of care.
