Executive Director, MHA

Clínica Romero is proud to have a strategic Executive Director that brings over 12 years of in-depth involvement in leadership roles. Sandra brings an array of experience working in the private sector, and is currently part of the California Immigrant Policy Leadership and a member of the University of Southern California Dean’s Community Leadership Council.

Ana Grande

Associate Executive Director, MAH
As the Policy & Community Relations Director, Ana is responsible for developing and advancing Clínica Romero’s Policy framework and Community Organizing strategies. integrating this work into the organization’s preventive and primary health care services. Over the years, Ana has developed a nationally recognized Promotora and organizing models bridging primary care with advocacy. Ana is also responsible for maintaining the existing community relations, locally and abroad, while implementing new programs and community partnerships.

Dr. Sam Pierce

Medical Director, MD
Dr. Pierce brings over a quarter of a century of clinical experience working in diverse settings; He carries a humanistic, culturally competent, and patient-centered approach to medical care and administration. His unique abilities embrace twenty-first century technology in a down-to-earth, understandable manner while always remaining mindful that a key element in excellent patient care, is to care about the patient.

Karissa Moreno

Operations Director, MA
A bilingual native of the Bay Area, Karissa Moreno is an innovative leader with over two decades of advocacy for at-risk and vulnerable populations, and 12 years expertise in nonprofit leadership. Karissa earned her BA in Cultural Anthropology from UC Santa Barbara and her MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago. For the past decade, Karissa has championed innovative, top-of-scope team-based care at FQHCs in Northern California, Central California, and now Southern California. She is passionately committed to eliminating health disparities for underserved and vulnerable populations, and approaches health care through the lens of whole-person wellness.


Dr. Rodney Samaan

Clinical Informatics and Innovation Director, MD
Dr. Samaan is a board certified Cardiologist who specializes in the prevention of coronary artery disease and venous disease. Dr. Samaan received his fellowship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City, and has performed his duties as a resident in both University Hospitals (Case Western Medical Center) and Rainbow Babies Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
